Drywall Finishing & Texturing Services
The finish is the part of your drywall you see every day. RDS handles drywall taping, joint finishing, smooth wall finishes, wall and ceiling texture, and texture matching for homes and commercial spaces across Southern California.
What Drywall Finishing Includes
Drywall finishing is everything that happens after the board is hung. Seams are taped, corners are reinforced, and joint compound is applied in coats over joints and fasteners. Each coat is sanded so the joints disappear into the wall instead of showing through the paint.
Once the joints are finished, the surface is left smooth or given a texture, depending on the look you want and what the rest of the space already has. The result is a wall or ceiling that's ready for primer and paint.
Good finishing takes patience. Rushed joint work is what usually causes visible seams, ridges, and outlines once a room is painted, so we take the time to get each coat right.

What's Included
- Drywall taping and joint finishing
- Corner bead and inside-corner finishing
- Smooth wall finishes
- Wall texture and ceiling texture
- Texture matching for repairs, remodels, and additions
- Sanding and prep so surfaces are ready for paint
Smooth Wall Finishes
A smooth wall gives a clean, modern look, but it's also the least forgiving finish. Light shining across a smooth wall shows every ridge and low spot, so the joint work and sanding need extra care.
We apply and sand joint compound until the surface is even and ready for paint. If you're considering smooth walls, we'll talk through the room's lighting and your goals during the estimate.
Drywall Texture Options
Texture adds character to walls and ceilings and helps hide minor imperfections. We apply wall texture and ceiling texture on new drywall and on existing surfaces that need refreshing.
The right texture depends on the room, the lighting, and the rest of your home. We'll look at your space and help you choose a finish that fits during the estimate.
Matching Existing Texture
When new drywall meets old, the texture needs to match or the new area will stand out. We look at the pattern and depth of your existing texture and work to match it as closely as possible so repairs and additions blend in.
Paint, lighting, and the age of the surrounding surface can all affect how closely a match reads, and we'll be upfront with you about what to expect.
Finishing New Drywall
For new construction, remodels, and additions, finishing is what turns freshly hung board into a finished wall. We tape, coat, and sand new drywall and finish it smooth or textured to match the rest of the space.
Because we also install drywall, we can take a project from hanging through final finish so the work stays consistent from start to end.
Finishing After Drywall Repairs
A patch is only as good as its finish. After a drywall repair, we tape and feather the joint compound wide, sand it smooth, and match the surrounding texture so the repaired area blends into the wall or ceiling.
We also redo earlier repairs that show through paint or don't match the texture around them.
